Karuwaza (Risky Undertaking Style) 5303907c-d5a1-4a15-b0aa-a9a8dd1255b8_zps7df5690b

Karuwaza is not a traditional fighting style, in that it has no set stances, forms, or method of practice. Practitioners learn to be nimble, limber and, above all, agile. Unlike most fighting styles which place an emphasis on damaging Taijutsu techniques and strong defenses, Karuwaza places a higher focus on avoiding enemy attacks. Offensive moves are showy, but often unpredictable and highly dynamic, using speedy maneuvers and rotational force to devastating effect. To put it in plain English, practitioners of the Karuwaza school are rough and tumble acrobats, capable of devastating opponents and looking totally cool while they do it.

Restrictions

    1. -- Karuwaza is open and available to all ninja.

Ukemi (Receiving Body)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid

[list]
One of the first things a Tumbler has to learn: how to fall. Or, more accurately, how to fall without getting hurt.  Light on their feet as they are, the user can reduce the impact of many Taijutsu techniques simply by leaping backwards at the last second. As a second part of this technique, the user contorts their body in air so they land without unnecessary injury. This technique has a few obvious limitations, namely an inability to thwart piercing force, Ninjutsu or Genjutsu.Note: This technique will take the edge off of enemy Taijutsu attacks, taking damage as though the technique was one rank lower, can only be performed on the ground.

    Ukemi - Takai (Receiving Body - Elevated)Rank: CRange: Close (0m ~ 5m)Type: Defensive / TaijutsuHandseals: -Chakra Consumption: Mid x2

Taking the idea of Ukemi to it's natural extreme, experienced users can lessen the impact of attacks that hit them, even in mid-air where they have nothing to jump back from. To do this, users will accept the force of the attack and flip or rotate away from the force of the blow. This technique is tricky, and won't work on attacks that manage to hit dead center. (The solar plexus, from which there is no easy point of rotation.)Note:This technique will take the edge off of enemy Taijutsu attacks, taking damage as though the technique was one rank lower. Can only be performed in mid-air, user must also know "Ukemi.".

Ukemi - Bōgyo Tochaku (Receiving Body - Counter Crescent)Rank: BRange: Close (0m ~ 5m)Type: Offensive / TaijutsuHandseals: -Chakra Consumption: High

Aerial Ukemi has the unexpected side effect of forcing the user to spin in mid air really quickly. Why not use that force to your advantage while you're up there? The user of this technique lashes out while still in mid-rotation, creating a crescent shaped kick in whatever direction they happen to be spinning. Unexpected and difficult to dodge in mid-air, this technique allows the user to return the opponent's force right back at them.Note: This technique strikes with force roughly equivalent to the attack thwarted by "Ukemi - Takai." Can only be performed in mid-air.  Can only be performed in mid-air, user must also know "Ukemi - Takai.".

Tōchaku Ushiro Chūgaeri (Backflip Crescent)
Rank: D
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Low

Setting themselves up, the user of this technique will do any number of backwards handstands as they bridge the gap between themselves and their opponent. Then, with a back-flip, they lash out with a downward kick using the toe end of the foot in a circular motion. Despite it's rather long set-up, it uses rotational force to decent effect.

Tochaku Sennuki (Corkscrew Crescent)
Rank: D
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Low

With a bit of a set-up, the user rushes forward and leaps, spinning in mid-air sideways like a top at a slight angle to the ground. They then lash out with their leg, striking at opponents in a circular path going diagonally left to right.

Tōchaku Ushiro Chūgaeri Daisaigai (Backflip Crescent Catastrophe)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid

A more advanced technique that uses both rotational force and gravity to dangerous effect. Taking to the sky, the user launches into a back-flip, and with one leading leg launches a downward kick in a circular motion as they come back down to earth. This technique is considerably more dangerous than the Backflip Crescent; inexperienced users are at risk for botching the landing and injuring themselves.Note:Technique can only be initiated in mid-air at heights of up to ten feet. User must also know "Tōchaku Ushiro Chūgaeri.".

Dai Seoi-nage (Greater Shoulder Throw)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid

A surprise attack designed to use leverage and rotational force in place of brute strength. The user leaps on the opponent, performing a handstand on his victim's shoulders so that he is upside down, facing in the same direction. They then finish their flip, grabbing their victim's shoulders and using the force of their fall to throw the opponent clear over their back.

Mae Chūgaeri Kyūhassha (Frontflip Cannonball)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid

The user tucks themselves into a ball as they leap for their opponent. The objective is to crash into the enemy with one's whole weight, literally turning oneself into a human cannonball. It's slightly more dangerous than other techniques, but don't worry; the bad guy will break your fall.

Rasenfuta Tochaku (Spiraling Twin Crescent)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Low, Mid (Upkeep)

Getting into a handstand, the user begins to spin on their hands, lashing their legs out. Their legs are subconsciously fed chakra, increasing their weight and creating a unique pattern of seemingly wobbly rotation that, when coupled with deft hand-walking, allows the user limited mobility even in mid-attack.Note: User rotates one time while on his hands, hitting anything within three meters. Chakra expended during upkeep adds a C-rank of extra damage.

Kyōdai Tatsumaki Tochaku (Almighty Tornado Crescent)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: High

Grabbing the opponent, the user jabs their feet into the victim's stomach and bends their knees. In this position, the user begins to backflip, taking the opponent with them in a chaotic spiral that gets faster and faster until, finally, they both go crashing straight down into the ground. Assuming the user's form is correct, this devastating skill ends with them on top of their victim, their entire weight sandwiching their opponent between themselves and the ground.Note: This Technique can only be performed in mid-air.

Ankoiru Uma Uwa-Kikku (Uncoiling Horse Upper-Kick)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid x5

At an opportune moment the user coils into a sphere quickly rolling to the feet of their opponent. The user gathers chakra in their arms and legs, planting their hands to the ground and abruptly springing outwards to launch themselves into the air feet first aiming for the chin of their opponent with such force they may likely take the head with them if the kick lands.Note: Should this jutsu land a roll must be made with a 25% chance of K.O. and 10% chance of decapitation for the target.

TENJOUKEN
[sexify]Tenjouken, a sect of Karuwaza jutsu that focuses more on offensive measures. A study in speed and power over agility and balance lays the foundation for the entirety of this sub-style. Tenjouken is a training of the body and a utilization of it to its utmost potential though in a different light than the core Karuwaza jutsu. Though not on the levels of the chakra-enhanced strength utilized by medic-nin, practitioners of Tenjouken have amazing physical power and speed with which to back it up. They focus on hitting hard and fast using efficient maneuvers. However, their training does not only cover offense; their bodies are extremely enduring and efficient.[/sexify]

Shuugeki! (Charge!)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Supplementary / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid x2
A very simple technique, the Tenjouken user simply charges at the enemy and rams them with their shoulder.

Note: 50% speed boost gained during charge only, it also stacks with base speed and/or the "Limber, Nimble" speed boost of Karuwaza Tier 2. I.E. Taijutsu users with Tier 2 Karuwaza would move at x3 speed while dodging (x2.5 without) while a Nin Prime with Tier 2 would move at x2 speed (x1.5 without).

Shougeki! (Crash!)
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid
Immediately following 'Shuugeki!' the Tenjouken practitioner grabs onto their target. Usually, this is done near the shoulders on whatever their opponent is wearing, but anywhere will do; then, instead of mounting them (as this can be dangerous considering possible weaponry, ninjutsu, and genjutsu), they tuck their legs in just underneath them and over the body of their enemy. From there, they "jump" off of their target with all their strength, slamming them into the ground with its force and rocketing off of them.

Tenchuu (Heaven's Punishment)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid x3
Standard Tenjouken technique. A technique that stresses speed. Whether a punch or a kick, the user aims to attack using the shortest path to the enemy--that is, a jab in a straight line as opposed to a hook, or a lower-body kick as opposed to an upper-body one. The "shortest path" changes with every movement, giving this technique a unique versatility.

Note: A strike from Tenchuu lands with x2 the user's (current in-thread) speed.

Tenshi (Heaven's Gift)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid x3
Standard Tenjouken technique. A technique that stresses power. Whether a punch or a kick, the user aims to attack in such a way that they sacrifice speed for power--that is, a hook as opposed to a jab, or a spinning upper body kick as opposed to a swift lower body one.

Note: A strike from Tenchuu lands with x2 the user's (current in-thread) strength.

Keibi no Kougeki (Strike Guard)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Defensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: High
Description: When fighting against another Taijutsu user, Tenjouken users find that the best defense is in a good offense. That is, when they are put on the defense, they instead attack. When moving to guard an attack, instead of simply blocking or swatting the attack away, they strike at the body of the incoming attack in order to stop it (i.e. if a punch is coming, instead of swatting it away, the user will strike at the forearm or elbow of the incoming punch, thereby deflecting and attacking at the same time). If a weapon is used, they attempt to close in and strike at the body holding the weapon.

Note: Blocks 'B-rank' taijutsu attacks and below, whilst attacking in the same motion.

Agehibari (Soaring Skylark)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Defensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: High
A simple technique in which the user either leaps, steps, or rolls to the side. The focus with this technique is on the dodge itself, and therefore it has no offensive use on its own.

Note: 50% speed boost gained during dodge only that stacks with base speed and/or the "Limber, Nimble" speed boost of Karuwaza Tier 2. Each time used in succession, the speed boost is reduced by half until it hits zero. A full post without using this jutsu will reset the speed boost back to the default amount. I.E. Taijutsu users with Tier 2 Karuwaza would move at x3 speed while dodging (x2.5 without) while a Nin Prime with Tier 2 would move at x2 speed (x1.5 without).

Hien (Flight of the Swallow)
Rank: B
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Supplementary / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: High
Allows the user to change momentum and jump in midair by kicking against the air and utilizing chakra similar to the way it is used when walking on water. In this execution, the user is able to "double jump". This can be used in any direction, for a second upward boost, to alter momentum midair to avoid an attack, or even upwards to plummet to the ground with a boost of momentum.

Note: Hien adds a 50% speed boost during the second jump only that stacks with base speed and/or the "Limber, Nimble" speed boost of Karuwaza Tier 2. Taijutsu users with Tier 2 Karuwaza would move at x3 speed while dodging (x2.5 without) while a Nin Prime with Tier 2 would move at x2 speed (x1.5 without). Can only be used once per jump.

Eraikatsu (Great Divide)
Rank: A
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Mid x6
Utilizing the practitioner's immense flexibility, when forced into a situation in which kicks are unusable (i.e. the opponent is so close, extending the leg is impossible), this can come as a surprise. Instead of kicking out, the user literally kicks up, causing them to do a "vertical splits." This kick is usually aimed at the chin, and can send an opponent rocketing upwards into the air. Sends the target approximately 10 meters into the air, depending on the weight of the opponent.

Toukizenshin (Rising Drive)
Rank: A
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: High x2
A technique considered brutal by some, the user first attempts to grab their opponent by their head. Whether the back or the front is irrelevant--once they've grasped their targets head, they slam it into the ground with amazing force and run, pushing and dragging them along the ground.

Kyouheki (Calamity Break)
Rank: S
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m)
Type: Offensive / Supplementary / Taijutsu
Handseals: -
Chakra Consumption: Massive
A near instantaneous kick aimed at the head. It is a swinging kick, aiming to take the enemy by their temple. Despite the seeming simplicity of the skill, it is quite difficult, as the kick is performed at a 100% speed bonus that stacks with the user's base speed and/or the "Limber, Nimble" speed boost of Karuwaza Tier 2. I.E. Taijutsu users with Tier 2 Karuwaza would move at x5 speed (x4 without) while kicking while a Nin Prime with Tier 2 would move at x2.5 speed (x2 without). The power behind this kick allows it to negate most jutsu (including elemental) up to A-rank and puncture barriers up to A-rank.

Note: Due to the strain performed on the lower body after this kick connects, the user will move at 50% of their original speed for three posts. Should this strike land a roll must be made with a 75% chance of K.O. and 25% chance of decapitation for the target.
